GENERAL:VISA information

Sweden joined the European Union in January 1995 and became a member of the Schengen cooperation in 2001. If you're travelling to the championship as a citizen of a non-EU country, you may need a VISA. The Swedish Migration Agency and The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs are well aware about the competitions, and they're ready to provide as good support as possible.

  • VISA REQUIREMENTS: Who needs a VISA? ►

Citizens from the countries and territories listed above require a Schengen VISA when entering Sweden.

  • APPLICATION: Sweden Abroad ►

We advise you to visit Sweden Abroad, wich is the official website of the Swedish embassies and consulates where you'll find specific information about the VISA requirements and application process for your country.

  • Important stuff: Apply on time ►

You can submit your application six months before the start of your intended visit. Apply as far in advance as possible and no later than 15 days before your intended trip, to be sure to have your VISA on time.
