GENERAL VISA INFORMATION

Sweden joined the European Union in January 1995 and became a member of the Schengen cooperation in 2001. If you're travelling to the championship as a citizen of a non-EU country, you may need to apply for a Schengen Visa. The Swedish Migration Agency and The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs are aware about the competitions, and they're ready to provide as good support as possible.

SWEDEN ABROAD

We strongly advise you to visit Sweden Abroad, the official website of the Swedish embassies and consulates where you will find specific information about the Visa requirements and application process for your country.

INVITATION LETTERS

You may request an invitation letter if one is required for your Visa application. Before an invitation letter can be issued, you must be registered for the Championships and have your registration accepted by your Member country (i.e., listed as ”accepted” on the registration lists). Once both of these requirements are met, you can request an invitation letter by sending an email to contact@2024wmac.com. Be sure to include the following information in your request:

  • Name of the athlete, accompanying person or team manager
  • Passport number or national ID number
  • Country
  • Email address

MAKE SURE YOU APPLY ON TIME

You can submit your application up to six months before the start of your intended visit. Apply as far in advance as possible and no later than 15 days before your intended trip, to be sure to have your Visa ready on time.

THE MEDICAL INSURANCE IS VITAL

To get you Visa application approved you have to present a valid medical travel insurance. The insurance coverage should be for a minimum of 30.000 euro and is preferably taken out in your home country. If you are travelling here as an athlete, make sure the insurance covers your participation in sports.
