WMAC OPEN 10K is an exhilarating race like no other! Join us for a 10-kilometer summer challenge packed with excitement and adventure. It's not just a race; it's a high-energy celebration of pure joy and your style of athleticism.
It's a race free from pressure, with the one and only goal of having an absolutely delightful day of running. Moreover, it's a race that gives you seed-based results for Göteborgsvarvet 2025.
THE NON QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY
This is an open race! It is is open to recreational and professional runners and athletes of all levels. The minimum age requirement is 17 years, but no other qualifications apply.
The entry fee is 495 SEK or 45 EUR and includes a starting kit, race refreshments and seed-based results for Göteborgsvarvet 2025 and awards.
RACE COURSE
Welcome to Slottsskogen City Park and the 10-kilometer race set amidst the serene beauty of lush forests of and the charming presence of penguins. This scenic route unfolds over two laps on a gently undulating 5-kilometer track, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and moderate challenge.
While the course is predominantly flat you can still expect some gentle inclines and descents along the way, adding just the right amount of variation to keep your senses engaged.
With the cool breeze rustling through the trees and the melodic sounds of nature as your soundtrack, every step of this track will give you a taste of adventure. A link to the race course map will soon be available.

RACEDAY: 18 AUGUST
The race starts at 10:00 AM in the middle of Slottsskogen and finishes at Margeretebergsgatan. The finish line closes at 12:00 PM.

BIBS
You will receive your start certificate sent to you via e-mail a few days before the race. The number tag is picked up at the Technical Information Center in the House of Athletics (Friidrottens Hus), during the dates and hours listed below. We recommend that you collect your bib well in advance before the start.

TIME KEEPING
WMAC 10K OPEN is a timed race of 10 kilometers. The time is kept using an electronic chip inside the number tag, which is already attached to your race bib when you pick it up. The finish line closes at 12.00 pm.
WARM UP
There are warm-up areas available at the start.
DRESSING ROOMS AND BAG STORAGE
You can leave your bag in the bag storage near the start line, using the sticker with your race number on it that you receive along with your race bib. The bag storage is staffed, but we still like to remind you that you hand in your belongings at your own risk.
Please arrive to the event changed and ready, changing rooms and showers are not provided. Toilets are located in the start and finish area.

REFRESHMENTS
Race refreshments will be provided to all participants during the race.
ARRIVAL AND PARKING OPTIONS
Utilize public transportation whenever possible. The closest stops are Botaniska Trädgården, Marklandsgatan and Linnéplatsen. You can use the Västtrafik To Go application, Reseplaneraren or visit vasttrafik.se to plan your route. Parking is available for an environmental fee of 100 SEK at Dalens Grusplaner near Slottsskogsvallen. Payment via Swish or by cash.
AFTER THE RACE
After the race, you are warmly invited to join us at the championship stadium to bask in the excitement of a full day of World Championship athletics and a delightful atmosphere. Feel free to take a stroll through the Athlete's Village in the park just outside the stadium to grab a bite to eat and enjoy your own accomplishments together with the rest of the world.
